New research by Save the Children has revealed that in order to feed their family a healthy diet the world's poorest people are facing food costs that are more than three times their income. So your trip to Mexico is a month away and you've got to fit into that itty-bitty red bikini you bought in a size too small (hey, we all do it). You know starving yourself isn't healthy or smart -- one sip of strawberry daiquiri and those pounds you lost will reappear faster than it takes Britney Spears to check in and out of rehab. Emergency liposuction? Also not an option. That's where we come in. We've designed three eating and exercise plans to help you hit your deadline -- whether it's 1 we

These photographs, shot by Peter Menzel from the book "Hungry Planet," were part of a previous Time Magazine story I posted about science confirming the secret key to weight loss. They didn't include these photos in their article at the time, and only printed four of them in the magazine.

They were traded, and the quest for them has spawned new nations and caused wars. Once you learn how to work with spices, you can make your own spice mixtures, to season your barbecue, and even serve at the table instead of or in addition to, salt and pepper.

Food Addiction: Under-diagnosed and Under-treated
http://ruddsoundbites.typepad.com/rudd_sound_bites/2007/07/f...
I recently attended the Harvard Medical School International Conference on Practical Approaches to the Treatment of Obesity. One thing I observed from the conference is a pattern of under-diagnosis and under-treatment of what I will call food addiction. I believe food addiction is part of a spectrum that includes emotional eating, mindless eating, compulsive eating, binge eating, food addiction, as well as bulimia on the far right and anorexia on the far left.
